EDIT: Decided to include a before and after shot.

Sadly, no, I didn't graffiti this myself. If I had the skill and the guts, maybe, but as it is I don't and so I designed the text in Adobe Illustrator and transferred it to a photo I took of a building in a local park. However, I did write it on my bag:

Reflective Statement

If I were a graffiti artist I wouldn't waste my tagging swear words or my own name. I would like to create art that would inspire people to be something more with themselves and to make the world a better place. The inspiration for this surprisingly enough came from a book series called, "Gone" by Michael Grant. (To judges don't worry - no where in the book is there a wall with Hope written on it so this is not copyrighted material ;). I found myself wondering, in a crapsack world like this, what would I contribute to society? I am not an entrepreneur, a leader or a doctor. I would most likely end up a generic worker in the fields or something. But even in a world filled with starvation and riding on the bare bones of economics, artists can still make a place for themselves by keeping the human spirit alive which is important when they are low.
